What Is Wax Play?

Wax play is a form of sensation play that uses heat to awaken the skin and sense of touch.

Warm wax is gently dripped onto the body, creating a delicious mix of pleasure, anticipation, and light thrill.

When wax meets skin, it cools and solidifies, turning every drop into a surprising tactile moment. With care and intention, it can even be explored on more delicate areas, intensifying sensations and awareness.

You can play with contrasts, warm wax followed by cool air, or even a quick touch of an ice cube. Add extra layers of sensation with a soft blindfold to heighten anticipation and surprise.

In short: wax play is a safe, playful, and sensual way to explore pleasure through heat and touch.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

Check for allergies
Before playing, test a small amount of wax on your arm to see how your skin reacts. Some people may be sensitive to certain ingredients, especially in scented or colored candles.

Keep a safe distance
When dripping wax, hold the candle at a safe distance from the body—ideally at least 45 cm (about 18 inches)—to avoid burns.

Avoid sensitive areas
Never pour wax on the face, scalp, open wounds, or mucous membranes.

Have a safety plan
Always be ready to cool the skin quickly if needed, and keep flammable objects well away from where you’re playing.

Our choice to offer these candles comes from extensive research.

In our quest for the perfect wax play candle, we discovered that many, even some from European artisans, contain paraffin, a petroleum-derived substance that can release potentially harmful compounds like toluene and benzene, and produce fumes that irritate the skin and respiratory system.

Another common problem? Lack of transparency. Many manufacturers don’t provide clear information about wax or colorant ingredients, making it hard to know if the candle is truly safe for the skin.

That’s why Nëya, an experienced wax play practitioner, created these candles herself. She couldn’t find a natural, safe, and pleasurable wax play candle: so she made one. Naturally, it became La CLIT-approved.

During our search for truly body-safe wax play candles, we discovered something surprising: many candles on the market don’t even disclose their ingredients.

Here, you’ll find full transparency: every ingredient, explained.

🔥 No Paraffin
Most candles on the market (even those labeled for wax play) are made with paraffin. Paraffin smoke has carcinogenic properties, is petroleum-based, and far from eco-friendly. It’s also hard to clean and, for many bodies, melts at a temperature that barely feels warm.

🌿 Pure, Natural Wax
Our candles are made from a blend of soy wax and purified beeswax: natural, biodegradable, and skin-friendly. The beeswax is carefully filtered to remove pollen and impurities, resulting in a smooth, clean wax designed for sensual skin contact.

🎨 Skin-Safe Color
Only cosmetic-grade pigments, gentle enough for sensitive skin. No stains, no residue, just the memory of warm, silky wax.

🌸 Fragrance-Free
No added scents, ever. Fragrance oils can alter wax temperature and make sensations less predictable. Pure wax means full control, consistent heat, and no distractions.

💧 Two Heat Levels
Because every body, and every desire, is different.

Soft: gentle, enveloping warmth (≈45–48 °C / 113–118 °F)

Standard: a balanced, more intense heat (≈51–54 °C / 124–129 °F)

Temperature naturally varies with distance: farther feels softer, closer feels hotter. All versions are skin-safe and tested for comfort—no burns, no irritation.
