La CLIT - Coffee, Literature, Inspiration & (sex) Toys
Hi! Our names are Giulia (a lawyer) and Francesca (an architect) and we live in Florence, Italy.
We've decided to create a place focused on sexuality, pleasure, sex toys, wellness, education, all kinds of bodies and their transformations. A place to share knowledge, dialogue, a cup of coffee or flute of prosecco in the company of expert guests: our project is born of a sincere personal and collective desire for people to come together. So we founded LA CLIT, the first sex shop literary café in town!
We sell top-of-the-line sex toys and other luxury sexual health items, each carefully selected by us on this online shop. Once we open our brick and mortar shop, there will also be a café, and it will be a place to hold workshops, courses, and talks on the whole spectrum of sexuality.
La CLIT is unique in the Italian sex shop landscape: envision a place filled with natural light, adorned with plants and fresh flowers; the aroma of coffee in the air, the buzz of people chatting and relaxing; courses to sign up for, such as introduction to kink, as well as aperitivi with a variety of expert guests and sex therapists, encouraging open, frank and collective discussion about specific subjects, or perhaps a talk on asexuality, and much more.
All our products respect the highest body-safe standards (which sadly are not guaranteed across the international sex toy market) and have been carefully selected according to one or more of the following criteria:

We have also tried to select our suppliers with specific attention to ethics, to ensure that purchasing products for personal pleasure will not be at the expense of exploited workers or the environment.
We intend to create a safe space in Florence, a place to deconstruct internalized patriarchal influences, to cultivate sex and body positivity, inclusion, care and curiosity; a restful place to learn, to share and to promote intergenerational conversation.

This adventure starts with an initial pop-up phase, including events hosted around the city, in bookstores, bars, clubs, bookstores, wineries, as well as this online store!
