AFTERCARE - Talk - February 19 2026 - 7:00 PM

AFTERCARE - Talk - February 19 2026 - 7:00 PM

Aftercare is the space that follows a sexual experience, dedicated to mutual care, connection, and emotional and physical regulation.

It can take simple yet essential forms: lying side by side, talking, drinking water, covering up, or taking the time to tidy up and clean together. These gestures help create a sense of safety, respect, and being truly heard. Aftercare also supports the nervous system, strengthens consent, and nurtures the emotional and intimate well-being of everyone involved.

The concept of aftercare originated within BDSM and kink communities, but today it is widely recognised as important for all kinds of sexual experiences: not only the most intense ones. It helps bridge the transition from deep intimacy back to everyday life, supporting body and mind as hormones such as oxytocin and dopamine begin to decrease. Taking care of your own needs and those of your partner (or partners) during this phase can prevent emotional discomfort and deepen connection.

During this event, La CLIT will explore aftercare in a sexual context together with Costanza Gori, sexual consultant: why it matters for everyone, how to recognise needs and boundaries (which can vary from person to person), and how to practise it consciously and respectfully: in couples, in casual encounters, and also on your own.

An evening to normalise vulnerability, offer practical tools, and remind us that care is not an extra: it is part of pleasure.
